HOW TO LOVE THOSE SHOES ...
Looking after your Earth shoes
How you clean your Earth shoes can make a big difference to their longevity. Your new Earth shoes are an investment and it is in your best interest to look after them as best as you possibly can - after all, they are looking after you!!!
Love Those Shoes After Care Tips
- Before you polish your shoes, remove any dirt or dust with a clean cloth or lightly brush them down
- Your shoes are not waterproof unless it is clearly stated on the product
- Never machine-wash your footwear - this can seriously damage them
- Use a different cloth or brush for different coloured creams or polish
- Always allow wet footwear to dry out naturally and never subject your shoes to artificial heat as this could damage the uppers
- Increase longevity by regularly rotating them with other shoes
- Heavily dyed garments are not colour fast
- Always protect your new shoes before you wear them for the first time and always use the correct product for your shoes.
- The information detailed below gives specific cleaning advice according to the type of Earth shoe you own - just check the finish on the box for the upper material used and away you go on a buffing frenzy!
Leather
- Dirt and Debris can be embedded into the leather so always clean your leather boots or shoes before you start to polish them.
- It is best to remove the shoelaces before you polish your shoes/boots. This allows you to clean the tongue of your shoes an avoid staining the laces.
- Apply the polish or cream using a soft cloth then once they are completely dry buff them to a brilliant shine using a soft bristle brush.
- If your shoes have a waxed upper then use dubbin or a good quality leather conditioner in order to keep the leather supple.
- Control trainer odour by regularly using a foot deodorant.
- With Walking Boots make sure you polish and waterproof them regularly and remove any loose mud and allow them to dry naturally.
