Exercising in sweaty shoes can put you at risk of infection.
Warm, moist environments can be a breeding ground for a multitude of germs and fungi.
‘There are 100 times more yeasts and moulds in old boots and trainers than in a flushed toilet bowl’
Keep your trainers clean and dry
Alternate between two pairs of shoes, allowing 24 hours for one pair to dry out especially if you do a lot of exercise outside
Make sure they have breathable and durable uppers. Additional features to look out for are perforated uppers offering maximum ventilation (like all our Earth and Power Diet Ranges including the faux leather vegan finishes)
If you’ve been running or training outside, put your shoes in a separate section in your kit bag
Unsupportive trainers can cause injury
To avoid injury when exercising it’s really important to have adequate support and cushioning. Earth trainers have a shock absorbing Gelron 2000 layer in the footbed to absorb the impact created by the movement – excellent for helping and preventing Plantar Fasciitis, Metatarsalgia, Heelspurs, RA, Arthritis and Bursitis.
Remember, trainers don’t last forever and cushioning can deteriorate - leaving you at risk. Experts recommend buying new trainers every 250 – 500 miles.
Badly fitting trainers contribute to general Joint and Muscle ache
Podiatrists state that trainers should be the next biggest outlay after gym membership and good trainers will give protection not just from diagnosed conditions but general joint and muscle ache – Earth shoes have a dura-sole design with mid arch support that propels the foot forward and encourages a natural walking motion and behaves like a mattress giving support and protection with every step!
