Brand Info

Arcopedico footwear was originally founded in 1966 by Professor Elio Parodi, an Italian scientist. Even though he didn’t have any previous knowledge of manufacturing footwear or the footwear market itself, Parodi’s interest and knowledge in orthopedics led him to develop a brand new type of technology that supported his belief in the arch of the foot should be correctly supported.
Parodi started producing Arcopedico footwear in Porto, Portugal. Rather than using leather which at the time was hard and could be painful on the feet, he instead used woven nylon uppers that gave the correct support to the arch of each foot.
Comfortable footwear has become more essential than ever in recent years with consumers unwilling to compromise on comfort as the importance and benefits of supportive footwear becomes more widely known. Arcopedico have designed and developed a new generation of styles which provide unrivalled levels of comfort and support to sustain good foot health.
Technology Explained >>>
Technology Explained
All Arcopedico styles are designed around three main principles – to be lightweight, offer twin arch support and feature comfortable uppers made in soft materials such as techno-elastic lycra. These three ideals ensure high standards of comfort all day long.
When wearing standard shoes, the weight of the body tends to rest on three points only which can cause pain and pressure in the arch and the ball of the foot and can also lead to a curving of the big toe. The Anatomic Footbed featured in Arcopedico styles uses ergonomic principles and the anatomical design of the foot to ensure even distribution of the body weight through the entire foot.
Due to the body weight being distributed evenly when wearing Arcopedico shoes, blisters and calluses are reduced and the arch of the foot is less tired. Arcopedico footwear also exercises the feet and strengthens key muscles while improving circulation and ensuring higher levels of comfort when walking.
The stretchy uppers of Arcopedico shoes are combined with twin arch support to accommodate any foot shape or irregularity and give a comfortable fit and feel with every step.
