The RunTone Action trainer is the muscle-toning shoe you can wear while running, training and working out! This style, a close cousin to the EasyTone shoe, encourages more activation in key leg muscles like the calves and quads and reduces overall body stress.
The RunTone has a patented sole technology which features 6 pods, rather than the 3 pods on the Easytone sole. These extra pods move the air that forces your muscles to work harder, encouraging increased muscle activation, toning, strength and endurance.
This styles features an off White mesh SMOOTHFIT® upper with Comet Yellow trim and Black signature logo, DMX Shear cushioning panels for comfort and to reduce heel stress with the IMEVA midsole supporting the arch and keeping the foot in the correct position.

Reebok RunTone uses a patented sole technology which features 6 balance pods of moving air that force your muscles to work harder along with 2 cushioned stabilisers at the front. By placing these additional pods on the sole which are smaller and thinner than the Easytone pods, the instability is manageable and the runner can control the balance easier whilst intensifying the work out. The Runtone pods focus on strengthening the muscles enhancing your endurance making you go longer. Compared to a traditional running shoe, RunTone, a close cousin to our EasyTone shoe, encourages more activation in key leg muscles like the calves and quads and reduces overall body stress.
Invented by the Advanced Concepts Team at Reebok, and originally used in the Reebok Easy Tone range, the Balance Ball inspired pods were combined with Moving Air Technology to create a softness and micro-instability with each step to help tone the key leg and butt muscles.
The pods, which are designed around the benefits of instability training and contain air,are connected by a bridge which connects the pods to allow the air to move between chambers during a normal stride to add resistance. When running in Reebok RunTone the air moves from the pods in the heel to the pod at the midfoot, this increases the volume of air present in the middle pod and makes the legs and butt work harder.
Bill McInnis who is the Head of Reebok’s Advanced Innovation team, said: “Balance Ball-inspired pods with moving air technology. This technology is designed to help force muscles to work harder and adapt, and also allows us to create shoes that look like ordinary sneakers... you need to walk in the shoes to really feel the difference. The moving air not only creates a softer shoe that your foot can really sink into, but it also changes the profile of the pods as you walk, which is designed to provide muscle toning benefits.”
Combined with the pod technology is Reebok's SmoothFit seamless liner which minimises comfort, fit and durability. Each Runtone model features a DMX shear cushioning panels for added comfort and reduced heel stress. The footbed has an IMEVA midsole to support the arch and place the foot in the correct position giving the body a natural stance with a removable sockliner which can accommodate orthotics.

Product Comment : I read up on these in a running magazine where they got good reviews so I had to try them for myself. They work a. as a running shoe as they are comfortable, give a good stride and arent too heavy, and b. as a toning shoe as you can feel the difference after a run but they dont over work you so you are hobbling round for days after.
